Independent certification body headquartered in Stockholm, specialised in remote assessment and certification of management systems against ISO standards.
Who we are
C1 Certification AB is a third-party certification body registered in Sweden. Founded in Stockholm in 2019, we assess management systems using a fully remote operating model that lets us audit with the same technical rigour while removing travel costs and delays. Our first cohort of certified organisations was issued in October 2024.
Our activity follows the principles of the international standard ISO/IEC 17021-1, which governs the competence, consistency and impartiality requirements of bodies that audit and certify management systems.

To issue trustworthy certificates that build confidence between organisations and their customers, contributing to safer, more transparent and more efficient markets through rigorous, independent and accessible assessment.
Values
- Impartiality: the certification decision is made by a committee independent of the audit team; we do not provide implementation consultancy to the organisations we certify.
- Competence: lead auditors qualified by scheme and sector, with verifiable continuing education.
- Confidentiality: we handle our clients' information under strict security policies and the GDPR.
- Transparency: fixed pricing, public certification criteria and a certificate register anyone can verify.
- Accountability: a complaints and appeals procedure available to any interested party.
Independence and impartiality
Trust in a certificate depends on the independence of its issuer. Therefore:
- C1 Certification does not offer management system consultancy or internal audits to its certification clients.
- The certification decision belongs to a committee separate from the team that performed the audit.
- An impartiality committee, with representation of interested parties, annually oversees conflicts of interest and the application of our policies.
- We analyse commercial and personal relationships that could compromise impartiality before accepting each engagement.

ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 lead auditor, with over 15 years of experience auditing IT systems and data protection.
Sara Lindqvist
Lead Auditor — Quality & environment
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 lead auditor, specialised in integrated audits for industrial and service SMEs.
David Falk
Chair of the Certification Committee
Responsible for the independent review of audit files and for granting, suspension and withdrawal decisions.
Kerstin Åhlund
Head of the Impartiality Committee
Coordinates the oversight of impartiality risks and the participation of interested parties in the body's governance.
Oskar Hedman
Quality & Operations Manager
Manages the internal management system, audit scheduling and client support throughout the certification cycle.
Accreditation
C1 Certification AB operates under accreditation by Swedac — Swedish Accreditation Council — accreditation no. 10432.
Accredited scope: certification of information security management systems (ISMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2023, under the rules of ISO/IEC 17021-1.
The current accreditation status and scope are published in the Swedac public register of accredited bodies.
